My mom passed away when I was 8 years old at the age of 41 from breast cancer. There are also all kinds of breast and other cancers sprinkled through my family history so close monitoring for me is a must.  At the age of 30 I started having regular mammograms and check-ups.  Several times my doctor also did ultra sounds to take a better look at something that was concerning on the mammogram.  I hated the whole “squishing and smashing” and the dose of radiation on top of that.  It just didn’t feel right to me.  The last mammogram I had the nurse came out and said they wanted to do an ultra sound as soon as possible and they could squeeze me in (no pun intended).  I stayed and about a 1/2 hour later a nurse came out and took my hand then said, “Would you like to call someone to be with you?”

I said “Do you think I need someone?” She gave me sad puppy dog eyes.  I answered with a no since everyone was quite a ways away. Then I sat there terrified of what was ahead.  They did the ultra sound and reported that everything looked fine.  I decided then and there that I was DONE doing mammograms.

When I came across Thermography I knew I had found the alternative I was looking for. I was a huge fan, of course, of not being smashed and squished.  It was also FANTASTIC to not have additional exposure to radiation.  After some research, the thing that was the absolute icing on the cake for me to follow this path was that Thermography can detect developing breast cancer 8-10 years faster than a mammogram can!  That fact certainly would give me a lot more options should something start developing.

Every year when I had my annual scan I was always so excited about the technology.  It was also fun to see changes in my health in the form of a colorful picture!  While my breast tissue has remained healthy, I started working with a Naturopath a couple years ago for other health needs. I knew I felt better with my treatment processes, but now I have a picture to show my health has improved from the inside out in other areas of my body as well.

My passion for giving people, especially women, options in their health care exams fueled my desire to be a certified Thermographer and start my own practice. I am thrilled to offer a comprehensive alternative to assist with diagnosis and prognosis, as well as to help people, like myself, track their health progress.  I am excited to have the opportunity to work with YOU and give YOU a picture of YOUR health.
